Microbiology Reader Bioscreen C monitors growth (turbidity) of 200 samples kinetically, displays growth curves and performs microbiological calculations.

Sample plates (honeycomb plates). Honeycomb plates are developed from 96-well plates specially for microbiology work.

A honeycomb plate format overcomes several disadvantages of 96-well plates in microbiology work: 1) a very constant plate height combined with extra heating of a cover and a cover design makes a Bioscreen C an only OD reader where a condensation liquid on cover is avoided and a cover can kept on plates during whole kinetic run; 2) temperature gradient across all wells is only +/-0.1 'C; 3) honeycomb plate is 2 times smaller than a 96-well plate and there are 2 times more samples (200 samples) on same area which could be used by 96-well plate.
