ABSTRACT

The degradability of o-, m-, and p-cresol by Fusarium oxysporum, F. solani, and F. moniliforme was studied. The F. oxysporum was sepd. from Tega Marsh. A bacillus sepd. from Kanayama Reservoir was also examd. Growth of the bacteria was obsd. by nephelometry at 600 nm and 25° using cresol as C source in a bioscreening system. The bacillus from Kanayama Reservoir decomps. o-, m-, and p-cresol. It was also suggested that F. solani, F. moniliforme, and F. oxysporum had the degraded p-cresol.
